Jan. 22nd-26th

Hello Kindie parents;

I can't believe we are almost done with January.  This week we will be a busy week. 

Math: we will be mastering "Teen" numbers and working on addition and subtraction in our math groups.

Writing: We are continuing to work on "How To" writing. They will work with a partner to make their own "How To"
They will make their own "How To"to present to class at the end of the week.  I will send home a rubric that shows what your child needs to do to get a 3 or 4. 

Reading: In reading we are still working in unit 6 week 3. Our question for the week is How Can We Stay Safe In Bad Weather?
We will meet in our reading groups and work on fluency. Other groups will work on fluency knowing the sounds in a spoken word.

Sight Words: the, see, can, a, I, like, we, to, go, and, you, and do. Please have your child practice the sight words. They can write the sight words on index cards to make flash cards. They can trace them in salt. The new sight words for unit 6 are: my, is, little, he, with, she with, and was. 

Specials: We split our class into two groups for specials.
