October 2nd thru October 6th

We had a great week! We did a fun science experiment. Will the apple sink or float? We tasted three different kinds of apples and green apples were the favorite in the class. The Move -a-thon was a big success. Thank you to those parents that were able to make it on Friday and help with the stations.


What we know:

Letters: We have been been learning the sounds and recognizing the letters, t, b, f, m, n, u, and i.  Help your child recognize letters and their sounds. Have them say the letter, the picture, and then the sound the letter makes. For example, t, top, /t/. This week we are adding the letter s.

Sight Words: the, see, can, a, and I. This week we are adding the sight word we. Please have your child practice the sight words. They can write the sight words on index cards to make flash cards. They can trace them in salt. We are adding the sight word LIKE this week.

Specials Schedule:  Our class is divided in half each day. Half of the class goes with Mrs. Zarlengo's class and the other half goes with Mrs. Mink's class.

Important Dates to put on your calendar:

October 13th no school fall break.
October 18th Kindergarten Pumpkin Patch field trip. Permission slip will be coming home on Friday.
October 19th Parent Teacher Conferences
October 20th No school, Parent Teacher conferences 
October 27th Three Creeks Fall Festival

Please make sure you are looking inside your child's backpack daily. They will be coming home with a paper book for practice. Help them by having them point under each word as they are reading to you. This helps them understand the voice to print. Have them point out the sight words that we have been learning so far.
