Hello Kindie parents;
I can't believe we are almost done with January. This week we will be a busy week.
Math: we will be working on subtraction and starting unit 4 in Math Expressions.
Writing: We finished "How To" writing. Together we wrote our own rubric for the students to use while writing their "How To" I will share their "How To" during parent conferences. I am very proud of all of them.
Reading: In reading we are we are starting unit 5. Our Big Question of the week is: What Kind of Things Can You Find Growing in Nature?
We will meet in our reading groups and work on fluency. Other groups will work on fluency knowing the sounds in a spoken word.
Sight Words: the, see, can, a, I, like, we, to, go, and, you, and do. Please have your child practice the sight words. They can write the sight words on index cards to make flash cards. They can trace them in salt. There aren't new sight words for unit 5. We will still be working on these sight words: my, is, little, he, with, she with, and was.

Important Dates:
This week is our Make A Wish Spirit Week. We are teaming up with Ralston Valley High School.
Monday is Crazy Hair Day
February 9th is our 100th day celebration. I sent home two fliers that explain what will be doing and what your child needs to do for that day.
1. Dress like they are 100 years old.
2. Make a 100th day project using 100 things.
3. Bring 100 small items in a baggie. We will be counting by 10's 5's and 1's with these 100 things. They can bring things in like: pennies, Cheerios, marshmallows, M&M's are a few examples. I love this celebration. Your children will have a lot of fun.
February 14th is our Valentine party. We will be doing our party in the morning. Please contact Sarah Mann if you can help with our party.
Have a great week!!
Always,
Mrs. Dahman
